"If using a test online reduces its validity, then we shouldn't use a test at all. This is the view we hear from some recruiting clients. But more often than not, a full-blown psychometric test is not actually required when recruiting online. If, as with most of our Workthing-PeopleBank clients, yours is a business of high-volume applications, clear criteria, and limited HR resources to handle response, then a simple screen-out filter 'test' may be all you need to run right at the start when candidates apply. More formal tests can follow at a later interview stage. The key is simply to know precisely what you need the test to achieve."
